During her younger teenage years she suffered with an eating disorder which left her being very thin when she was around the age of fourteen. Thankfully she was able to overcome the disorder and has been gradually returning to a healthy weight since then. Rowan loves being small because she gets away with acting childish more as people think she's about twelve. Rowan's hair is naturally ginger but she has been dying it red for a couple of years. Having red hair is especially good for her job as Ariel as instead of wearing a full wig she just has extensions. Rowan's eyes are a light blue color, but she wishes they were green as green eyes are her favorites. When Rowan smiles she gets adorable dimples in her cheeks which are, according to her manager, what got her the job at Disney, because you need a great smile to be a Disney princess! There was a beautiful mermaid who seemed as happy as can be... LIKES:

OVERALL: Shy/Timid; When you first meet her you'll notice just how shy Rowan is. It's hard for her to open up to new people straight away and she envies those people who can. If you don't talk to her she really will not try to make conversation, she'd rather just sit and listen to other people chat hoping that she'll somehow learn how to small talk. At work she's completely different, of course, as no one wants to meet Ariel and have her be all shy and not speak, even if she doesn't have a voice for half the movie ... Still, when Rowan is in the costume nothing social can phase her. Thanks to her somewhat traumatic past Rowan is very jumpy and timid. If there are any loud noises she'll jump, she cannot watch horror movies because she'd probably hyperventilate until she passed out. Creative; Being a lover of art of any form Rowan is of course a very creative girl. Mostly she paints, but she's pretty amazing at any type of art. Be it music, writing, sculpting, even doing makeup, she's a very talented young lady. When she was younger the only quiet time she ever had was when she was drawing or coloring in her room which is probably why she loves doing it so much now. When she gets older she'd like to be an art teacher as she loved hers at High School so much. Defiant/Stubborn; If Rowan doesn't want to do something it can be very hard to talk her in to it. In fact there will probably no talking her in to it at all, she'll just point blank refuse. As a child she was pushed around a lot and she isn't having any of it now. You'll be surprised by how stubborn this timid little girl can be. Adventurous; Despite her quiet exterior, inside Rowan really just wants to have an exciting life. After University she would like to take some time out to go traveling across the world, she wants to go as far as her savings will take her before she has to settle down and get a job. Honestly she can't think of anything more exciting than being in a country where no one knows who you are and you can just be whoever you want to be. But the mermaid had no tears, and therefore she suffered so much more. HISTORY: Rowan was born in California on the 21st of February to Mark and Ellie Goulding. Rowan was their first and last child. The Goulding's were a small family, Rowan had no aunts, no uncles, and only one grandparent, her mothers mother, Grace Willis who lived in Colorado and so Rowan rarely saw her. Rowan was a quiet child, not because it was in her nature, oh no, she was made to be quiet ... As was her mother. Mark Goulding was not a nice man. It wasn't a gradual change, Mark had always been a bad man, even when Ellie married him, which she did because she was pregnant. Mark made her feel like there was no other choice. No one would want to be with her, a single mother with a child, she'd be better off with him ... But she wasn't. The first time Mark hit his daughter she was five, and it was because she was crying for her mom who happened to be at work. Rowan soon learnt that if she cried she got punished, and so she no longer cried, but the punishments didn't stop, Mark just made up more things to hit her for. At first he only hit her when her mother wasn't there, then it began not to matter whether Ellie was there or not, because he hit her too. One day Mark was being more violent than usual Ellie put Rowan in the closet and locked it from the inside. Rowan was sat in the dark for hours with no food, no water ... Nothing to do but wait for her mother to come back, she didn't. After that everything became a blur for a year or two, there were police, her grandmother, a moving van, therapists.... Nothing made sense any more, Rowan's mother was dead, her father was in jail and she still couldn't cry. By this time Rowan was eight. Once she got settled in Colorado with her grandmother things slowly began to pick up, though Rowan was what people called a 'troubled' child. Kids didn't want to talk to her, and teachers talked to her too much, which bothered her. Why did adults always want to swoop in and solve her problems? Adults were what got her in to this situation ... Well, one adult... By the time Rowan got to High School she'd discovered her love of art, and art quickly became her favorite subject. It also happened to be the subject taught by Mr Dawson, the most amazing person Rowan had ever met. Mr Dawson grew to be the father figure Rowan never had, and he helped her with so many things, when it came time for her to graduate she didn't want to leave knowing that Mr Dawson wouldn't be coming to University with her. |
