MCKNIGHT, CHAMPAGNE C.
Champagne Chandelier McKnight Twenty-one Vietnamese/Caucasian Intern at Young Money Entertainment Straight Music Production I'VE ASKED ABOUT YOU, AND THEY'VE TOLD ME THINGS, HEIGHT: 5'1 WEIGHT: 115 lbs. APPEARANCE: Champagne has a prominent tan, and though her hair is naturally dark and straight, she dyes it a light blonde color, often curling it and wearing a beanie atop her head. She's really short and petite, standing barely at 5'1, but if you make fun of her height, you best believe she will fuck you up. She's tiny but she can't be pushed around. She's a little rascal, and though it doesn't seem like she has very much muscle, she can get frisky. Fuck with her and you'll figure that out. She likes to wear her makeup thick, fake lashes, winged eyeliner, dark lipstick -- she does it all up. Champagne always has to wear something gold or sparkling, whether it be two chains around her neck or a pair of diamond earrings, girl needs that bling to show off even if she can't exactly afford all of it. BUT MY MIND DIDN'T CHANGE, LIKES:
DISLIKES:
HABITS:
FEARS:
OVERALL: Champagne isn't judgmental of other people, she's more of a "you do you and I'ma do me" type of person, as long as you ain't hurting nobody and are having fun with whatever you do with your life, she'll be cool with you. She hates bitches who are just spiteful and mean for no reason, like, why you gotta be like that? She doesn't take that kind of shit from anyone, be real with her and she'll be real with you, ya feel? She's straight with whoever she talks to; if she has something to say, it will come out of her mouth as soon as the thought comes to mind -- she doesn't always think before she speaks, so at times the words may not come out correctly. She doesn't mean it wrong, Champagne just likes to get her point across, and if you don't get it straight away, don't expect her to continue on explaining it to you. Ain't nobody got time for that. AND I STILL FEEL THE SAME, HISTORY: Twenty-one years ago, Crystal Chandelier made the moves on a student of hers, Declan McKnight, who had just gotten out of a relationship with a boy. Crystal had figured, hey, maybe a little pussy will cheer him up -- so she made the moves on him, and that night, Champagne was conceived. Crystal never planned to be a mother. She lived off mostly stripper tips and money she got from pawning all the shit she'd steal from the rich dudes she'd bang every so often, and even that wasn't a steady enough income to satisfy the lifestyle she wanted to live. Water bras and booze didn't come cheap -- being a mother only put even more of a damper on her. How was she supposed to support herself and a baby? Declan was only a kid, eight years younger than Crystal, as if she was going to rely heavily on him for a hefty amount of child support. Things certainly didn't get much better for her once Champagne was born and the school board finally had the opportunity to obtain proof of her having sex with a minor and fire her... so Crystal had no choice but to quit her teaching job, and relocate to the Bronx, for the sake of being with her daughter. During the first few years of Champagne's childhood, Crystal brought her baby girl along everywhere she went, not wanting to leave her side, even at work -- often having a coworker of hers at the club watch Champagne backstage whenever she was up working. That friend was a woman named Trina, about four years older than Crystal, who had two sons of her own, Freydo and Benny, ages three and four while Champagne was only a year old. The three children would crawl around and play together backstage, Crystal and Trina taking turns watching them during their shifts. Trina's baby daddy had run out on her shortly after Freydo was born, which was around the same time Crystal started work at 1ntricate Strip Club with her. The two had grown close, and upon quitting her teaching job after Champagne's birth, Crystal moved across the hall from Trina in her apartment complex. They helped each other out, had each other's backs. They were sisters. One night, a man who went by the name of Juicy showed up to the club while Trina was performing. He was an aspiring music producer, had his own little home recording studio set up in the basement of his house. He apparently produced Nicki Minaj's first mixtape when she still went by the name Onika. He was in his early thirties, and was rarely seen without at least two gold chains around his neck... and he was instantly enchanted the second he laid eyes on Trina. Every night, Juicy requested a private dance with her, in which he would offer her small presents, flowers, chocolates, jewelry... he wouldn't ask very much of her other than to talk -- each time, they'd talk for hours. Trina would tell him about her children, their father, Crystal and Champagne. Juicy promised her that he would help take care of her... and after a few more months of that same nightly routine, Trina obliged. Soon enough, Crystal was left to leaving Champagne with Trina and Juicy every night in their apartment, as Trina didn't feel the need to continue working at the club anymore. They took Champagne in like the little girl was already part of the family. Crystal didn't have very much of her own relatives living around those parts, so to have Trina and Juicy, along with little Freydo and Benny, it just made her heart happy to know she had a sense of one there. A year later, a month before Champagne's third birthday, she was to be a flower girl at Trina and Juicy's wedding. Crystal had driven her, Freydo, and Benny along with her to the Chapel. Everybody waited for the bride and groom, but after a few hours... they still hadn't shown, and they began to worry. Just as Crystal had decided to head out to go search for them... she received a phone call from the hospital. Upon arrival, Crystal rushed to the front desk and asked the nurse to see them, but when she got the room, the only person she found was Juicy. The couple had gotten impacted in their car by a truck which had struck them from the passenger side, crushing Trina and shattering Juicy's right leg. Trina didn't make it. Champagne's birthday was not celebrated that year. Though Crystal normally slept throughout the day, having usuall worked during the night, she dedicated most of her daylight hours to helping Juicy out with his leg while it healed, and assisting in taking care of Freydo and Benny, who were now legally in Juicy's custody. Because of all the hospital bills, Juicy had no choice but to sell the house he'd lived in, moving permanently into Trina's old apartment, as he didn't need the big space anymore. After about a year, Juicy was walking again, though with the assistance of a cane, as the damage to his leg had caused him to develop a limp. In order to repay Crystal for all her help, he offered to begin taking care of Champagne, now age four, during the day, so that Crystal could take on another job and earn more money for them. Crystal gladly accepted the offer. All that time hanging around Freydo and Benny molded Champagne into a sort of tomboy. She knew how to keep up with them, play ball, talk the talk -- by the time she was seven, she was spitting out rhymes for Uncle Juicy. Out of the brothers. Champagne found herself being closer to Freydo. Maybe it was the fact that he was closer to her in age, but he was also much more open to her than Benny was. Benny seemed to resent her, push her away, keep a wall up, though Freydo assured that it wasn't personal. One day, Champagne was playing ball out on the streets with the boys, Juicy watching out for them as he sat on the front steps of their apartment building. Champagne was the shortest, eleven years old and going up against Freydo, thirteen, and Benny, fourteen. At some point, the three had gone to take a water break, and Benny instructed Champagne to retrieve the ball from across the street. Just as Champagne had begun to walk halfway into the road, a speeding car had come to approach -- had Juicy not have seen and drop his cane to pull her out of the way, she'd have gotten hit for sure. That was the first day he ever yelled and scolded her, raised his voice. He forbid her from playing in the streets again, and, naturally, Champagne was angry. Why was he being so protective over her? She wasn't that little! It was one incident, it could've happened to Freydo or Benny and they would've been allowed to continue on playing out there! But it wasn't until Benny got her alone and explained to her that she understood why. Juicy's heart was still mending back together after Trina's death. All the love he had for her was left to be poured out over them, the kids. Champagne, Benny, and Freydo. Right now, they were all he had. If anything happened to them, Juicy would place all the blame onto himself... as he seemed already to have done after the crash. In an effort to thank Juicy for everything, Champagne wrote and performed a rap for him on her twelfth birthday, remembering everything he taught her, listening to tracks for inspiration... it was a joyous occasion. Juicy started to get sick four months later. It was cancer, and they'd found it in twelve different places. Juicy was to have an estimated eight months to live, and Crystal and Champagne went to visit him three times a week. Each time, they'd play a game, Champagne would talk to him about life, school, sometimes give him a song to listen to. One particular visit, Juicy took off his favorite gold Chanel chain, handing it over to Champagne. He told her it was for in case he couldn't make it to her thirteenth birthday, which was in a month, what the doctors said would be his last. He passed a few days after that visit. Crystal was later granted custody of the boys, though she'd had to undergo inspection as to whether or not she was a fit parent, being that their neighbors had noticed how often the woman was gone from home, working a waitressing job during the day, performing at the strip club at night, sleeping her way through the afternoons with barely any days off. Though, she did run into a little trouble, months later, in December, when Benny was arrested for the possession of marijuana. Crystal had missed work in order to attend his court hearing, and was fired from Denny's. He'd been found guilty, sentenced to two years in juvenile detention in March 2027, and was released March 2029, shortly before his eighteenth birthday. Champagne, in the mean time, continues to rap, and she never lets Juicy's chain leave her neck, continuing on his legacy. Around fall of 2028, Champagne met a boy by the name of Jaden Sawyer at the local carnival. He didn't treat her very different, unlike most other boys around their high school seemed to, and that sparked her interest. He wasn't afraid to talk to her, and the fact that he wasn't like other boys she'd met, been with... she started to like him, a lot. wait I will finish this later after I ask Alex questions and I can come up with stuff ok |
