If someone had asked Elizabeth five years ago if she would choose her future over her relationship with Mike then she'd kindly tell them to shut the fuck up, rant about how they were meant to be and nothing would ever come between them and more importantly how she'd go wherever he was to. People change and so do their opinions so when Elizabeth was accepted to a college in California, she took it. She didn't think of her boyfriend or her family or her friends - she just went for it. She didn't want to be the girl if ten years who speaks of her dreams with such disappointment in her eyes. She'd seen it in Raine Gates when she spoke of dance and even in Serena Adams when she talked about living in a penthouse apartment in Manhattan, traveling the world and shopping her days away. Everyone knew that these women loved their lives, their partners and their children but it was always clear that they'd wanted different in the past. Elizabeth could never see past that and realize that both Serena and Raine would never, if given the choice, go back and undo their lives so their old dreams could come together. Five years of dating wasn't supposed to end in her packing all of her things and moving over two thousand miles away though - it was supposed to be something that -not done-
