I come from a land down under
Where beer does flow and men chunder
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder
You better run, you better take cover

One thing Sydney couldn’t stand to do was sit around and do nothing. She fidgeted in her bean bag chair, fingers fiddling through various apps on her phone. She could sleep, but then she’d be up all night doing absolutely nothing again. She could hang out with Ollie, but she felt like she’d bugged him enough as of late. There was only one option- workout. Did she want to train specifically or just soccer? It was always a tough choice, but she’d figure it out when she got to the fitness center, or the track.
Sydney ran a brush through her hair quickly before pulling it up into a pony tail, her bangs in a braid. She didn’t understand how girls could exercise with their hair down. Clearly they didn’t know what sweat did to hair, or they just didn’t work hard enough to sweat. Sydney wasn’t the kind of girl to go to the gym just for the sake of it. She had an agenda; she wanted to be the best. Sometimes she wondered what she would’ve been like if she hadn’t played soccer. She probably wouldn’t be at Landcaster now that she thought about it. She loved the University and the people in it so far. Sydney always thought she was easy to get along with, or so she hoped. Why would anyone want trouble with her?
Sydney worked her way through her workout clothes, not an easy task. She had more workout clothes than cute clothes, and sometimes it was the struggle to look cute. She liked how comfy workout clothes were in comparison, and she figured she didn’t really have anyone to impress so why bother? Sydney prided herself in her sports bra collection. There was one in every color, every pattern, and every design possible. A girl could never have too many sports bras. Ever. Sydney decided to go with a grey/lime/black outfit for her workout. She always matched for her workouts, because when you look good, you feel good.
Placing a few waters and a towel in her book bag along with her cleats, she set out on campus. Sydney didn’t like to wear her sport sunglasses unless she was running, besides she liked to see everyone’s faces clearly on campus. She was the kind of girl to give strangers random smiles, because she thought it might brighten their days. One would be amazed about how much a smile could make a difference. Her memory was also horrible, so she couldn’t really remember everyone she had ever smiled at. But aside from that, she was always a cheery person. She didn’t think herself insecure, and she had long ago come to terms with her small sad chest. She figured she couldn’t have it all in life.
Sydney thought about going to the wellness center, but it was so beautiful out and she wanted to enjoy it. She headed toward the track and lucky for her, practice was over and the track was hers. She loved the track at Landcaster. It was state of the art and made of rubber. It was so much better on the joints than cement. She set her bag on a bench, soccer ball inside it. She stretched thoroughly before setting off into a nice jog, sunglasses placed on her face. After two laps the heat was biting, and she discarded her shirt for only a sports bra. This was typically the outfit she always wore in her dorm room. After about two and a half miles she slowed her pace to take a break. Stopping by her bag she grabbed a water bottle.
