Haunted House Meeting (everyone should be here)

Post by Nadeen Desjardins on Jul 24, 2013 19:16:41 GMT -8
The first of October had been the first time Nadeen had heard the Halloween Project need a student head. A representative of the student body who would assume leadership roles, delegate authority, and act as a liaison between all the students, staff, and community. It would be a burden to bare, in addition to ones normal homework load. Ever adamant, Nadeen applied to the position. Once called into the faculty supervisor’s office she was greeted with not one face, but two. Professor Abigail Alford and Jaden Sawyer, a fellow sophomore, the two students met outside her door and entered the room together with kind smiles. On occasion they talked briefly, nothing more than a typical ‘hi, how are you’ when around the friends.
Typically, this position was given to a single student of senior status. Alford continued on about the current senior’s class lack of ambition and applauded the two before her. But, to lighten the young hopefully students she was making this role a co-op. They had equal power and would share equal duties. She also suggested they immediately exchange phone numbers and Facebooks, anything to put the pair in touch and on the go. This task wasn’t a simple Haunted House. It was another Landcaster tradition, all of which they prided themselves on.
This event allowed parents to bring their children or let their teens run free to a safe environment; the student body would have a /safe/ school sponsored party to attend following the Haunted House and was an all around involved Halloween treat.
Leaving the meeting the couple was given a large 3 inch thick binder full of details of businesses to call for donations, locations to hang community posters, details on construction, candy distributor information, and much, much more. Needless to say, from day one the team leaders had a heavy and stressful burden placed upon their shoulders. The following days, Jaden and Nadi kept in close contact, choosing other students to be on their support team. Individuals they hoped to see at weekly meetings and monitor the progress of the event. That had gone swell, until they established to officially have a meeting—something casual and fun.
“We can have it on campus, I can reserve a room in the music hall.” Nadeen suggested, figuring it’d be most convenient for all their members.
“We’ll have it at the frat house.” Jaden replied.
Maybe he was just trying to be that dependable papa bear host. But Nadi saw that as her job. She was the hosts who liked cooking and warming people’s hearts, the one who everyone could vent to and depend on.
That was the first time, their eyes locked. Nadeen’s pencil tip snapped the sound cracking in the otherwise silent room. Thus began the bout. Nadi’s need, to be needed and Jaden’s alpha attitude, had morphed into a most unexpected tension between the otherwise friendly individuals. Their comments could always be read passive aggressively. Ever since that night, Nadeen never wore flats around him, not even 3 inch heels. The girl who barely reached 5’3 rocked her 5 inch heels without batting an eye. She was read to do anything to even out their height, trying to diminish his image of being the more domineering of the two.
For their first group meeting, Professor Alford gave a list of possible jobs and names she had randomly assigned to tasks. This meeting would be to hash some of those details out (to find out if those jobs were really suitable to people), mingle, and get to know each other a little bit. The meeting would also happen to take place at Jaden’s frat house…Unfortunately. He won that battle but with the condition Nadi was allowed to come over early and bake. Nothing said welcome like freshly baked brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and dip (spinach dip and buffalo chicken to be exact).
The couple talked while, surprisingly preparing the baked goods together. She would have never expected him to be such a baker! You could never judge a book by it's cover, right? By avoiding talk of the Halloween Project their attitudes seemed to vanish to chuckles of cooking stories. Though, Nadeen had taken a firm stand on using her recipe for the evening. The girl even dared to playfully slap his hand with a spoon, when he tried to change her recipe. If he wanted to have the claim to the goods, the next time she chose their meetings place.
With staff arriving soon, goods set out on the table Nadi grabbed her clipboard, refusing to sit until Jaden first took his. The thought was doubtful, seeing as the both hovered around the door. Tall, dark, and handsome huh? Nadi pushed a smile to her lips, taking in her partner, not bad at all.
Tonight was their chance to co-manage this bit. Her mission was to be seen as a leader in this project, someone everyone could come to a depend on for the success of the event. The meeting tonight, would determine roles, partner and contact information and kick the project off to a lovely start.

[ www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=90952639 ] Kendra was honestly confused as to how she had been dragged into… helping with a haunted house? Normally she wasn’t the kind of person to volunteer for the sake of being a good citizen. Oh, no she remembered. Jaden had somehow been placed in charge of this “tradition” and was calling in all help, swag squad included. She wasn’t going to argue about it and she was definitely there to help her friend out. From what Jaden had told her, the meeting was simply to plan and delegate tasks. Jaden’s details had been simple and to the point. He wasn’t the only working as a coordinator- another female would be helping him. Kendra hadn’t recognized the name and simply shrugged at the little detail.
She actually enjoyed Halloween related things, and she liked to dress up. Sure it wasn’t the holiday yet, but it was going to be soon. Kendra decided to adorn her fall festive outfit with pride and set off toward the frat house or second home. The last time she had been there was for the party, and things got quite interesting. Truthfully, when she decided to get Sean to drink it was for her own personal interest. She wanted to get him alone and to herself, obviously to sleep with him. The thought of an accent moaning was just too good to pass up. However, after one drink she really should’ve pulled the plug, but the second really sealed the deal.
She spent a majority of the night cradling the buffoon in her arms while he sobbed out the most heart wrenching story she had ever heard. It was so sad, and she felt awful for trying to take advantage of him in the first place. It was clear that his heart belonged to another girl, and though she was jealous for a moment, a crying grown man was really a party damper. But Kendra listened and even rubbed his back. She didn’t do it out of pity, because she genuinely cared about his well being. It was she had no idea about all that bottled up rage and sadness, and she was glad that she knew the true cause of his bitterness. After passing out sometime in the middle of the night, Kendra had somehow put him to bed and even tucked him in.
She left no evidence that she had been in his room, aside from a shirt she stole form his closet. He had completely soaked her other shirt full of snot and grown man tears. His bed side had painkillers and a Gatorade along with a trashcan placed conveniently next to the bed. He never made mention of the night, and so she just assumed he completely blacked out and didn’t remember him confessing every little detail of his mood out loud. It didn’t matter though, but she found she couldn’t quite look him in the eye. She felt like she now had a secret that wasn’t hers to tell. It wasn’t a burden, but it felt wrong keeping it from him and at the same time she couldn’t bring herself to tell him.
Stepping out of her car, Kendra made her way to the door. Without even knocking she slipped into the house eating the bag of Oreos in her hand. She wasn’t sure if there was going to be food, and she sure as hell was not about to starve through a meeting. “Jaden!” she greeted loudly as she entered the room. Her eyes were immediately drawn to the food that was laid out for the meeting. “Bless,” she said softly licking her lips. She was suddenly in a better mood. She turned to the girl to introduce herself,” hello, I’m Kendra.” Kendra was an observant person, and she glanced down she noted the extra high heels. Already she could sense a power struggle. They were about to be in for a long project.

The fraternity was actually haunted. It amused Jaden when people wanted to believe it wasn't. An old alumni told the story to the then college freshman when first visiting the house during orientation. As well knew, Jaden was a firm believer of the supernatural due to the influence of his father. Hell, Aubrey knew a few things about witchcraft and hoodoo considering he came straight from the French Quarter in New Orleans. Ain't no one gon' tell me ghosts don't exist.
As long as Jaden respected the wandering souls around the home, he felt safe. He had told the story to the newcomers during initiation night and most of the guys laughed at him but he could have sworn he saw someone's nightlight on that very night. Usually he would have been opposed to hosting a party at the fraternity but since they were using the word haunted, they might have as well used an actual haunted home.
Anyways, why were people afraid of ghosts when there was the living? The living like Nadeen Desgarden? Wasn't that how her last name was pronounced? No, no, it was Desjardins but jardin did mean garden in another language. To put it short literally, Jaden felt like Nadi wanted to surpass him. She wanted to be above him and although he wasn't the competitive one, he wanted to stand his ground. Many thought of the male as a big, friendly grizzly bear but bears were also defensive.
As child, Jaden wanted to do everything from hockey to playing the tuba and as adolescent he wanted to do anything people were included. Which was why he knew how to cook because he started by completing small tasks in the kitchen and afterward he began using the more difficult utensils. Sean had also taught him how to do certain gourmet dishes because he was actually the professional around there. Jaden knew his way around baking as well considering his father's hobby aside from making children was pastries.
So it was no wonder how Jaden was familiar with the kitchen and worked about smoothly. He kept his eyes on the task and looked to Nadi only when necessary. He was a taken man after all and those dog days were over for him. A twenty year old should be honest and noble but what did cause Jaden to take a second look were the heels Nadi was sporting.
"Aren't you going to get tired in those?" He asked, partially concerned for her but generally confused. A person is a person no matter how small. as Dr. Seuss would say. He chuckled at that inside joke before looking to the door and seeing that Kendra had arrived.
"Hey Kendra!" Jaden greeted her moving from behind the counter and walking toward her. He always hugged his friends but this time he had to assure her that a certain Buttercup was doing fine. "He's okay." he whispered before releasing her and clasping his hands together. "Yeah, Nadeen here and I stood by a hot stove just cooking all of this." he smiled closed, despite the fact that he didn't really seemed honest with that smile.

Kelvin wondered, why did he let Jaden talk him into this. Kelvin had to laugh, because Jaden was one of those people who believed the Frat House was haunted. Kelvin didn't believe so, he though the frat house needed quarantine. Kelvin remembered when Jaden had told the story during initiation night, Kelvin had used that to his advantage, as he put a challenge that had something to do with the story during the pledges conquest to the Frat house. Kelvin remembered when he was a pledge, Kelvin still wondered at times what the fuck he had been thinking? He could've just gotten a normal apartment, that also had a pool, but no, this house. It was some sort of magic, to Kelvin. It was good, but bad at the same time. Kelvin sighed as he slowly got out of his room, and started to get dressed. Kelvin had hoped this would just be a meeting, and not turn into a party, he didn't wanna take a long time to clean, and waste his morning. He could skip out on cleaning and let Jaden do it, but Kelvin knew for a fact that Jaden would never let Kelvin hear the end of it.
Well, there was something good that came from parties in the house, he had gone lucky in the last party. He had slept with one of the hottest girls at that university, and it might've been one of the best nights he had in a while. Kelvin knew he hadn't been the only one at that party who had gotten lucky. But yeah, that was one of the good things in the house, it could make any man get layed at least twice before college ended, or at least that is what the seniors had said when Kelvin first joined, and technically, Kelvin had just wanted to join to keep being the cool guy, like he had been in High school. But slowly and slowly, Kelvin had lost all fucks on being the cool guy, he was who he was. Kelvin sighed, and readied himself, as he finished dressing himself, and opened the door to his room.
Kelvin walked down the stairs, and shouted, "Where the white women at?!" Kelvin yelled. Joking, and going down the stairs to see Nadi, Jaden, and Kendra standing there. Kelvin didn't greet at first, he headed to crack open the windows, because there was a relaxing breeze in the night. Kelvin sighed and headed toward the trio standing there. Kelvin hugged both Nadi, and Kendra, one after another. Then looked at Jaden. "Jaden, dude. I have not seen you in a long time!" Kelvin said ironically, as he had just seen Jaden half an hour ago. Kelvin laughed, wondering if more people were going to come.

( i686.photobucket.com/albums/vv227/Diedie_Ri/Forums/Landcaster%20Rp/nadihauntedmeeting.jpg ) Kicking up her heel, Nadi shook her head. “Hardly.” Tonight she was confident she could easily keep standing tall in the heels without grimacing. True this would not be an everyday occurrence. Just on days Nadi felt she needed to make an impression. “We did,” Nadi said with a smile, extending her hand to Kendra’s. “Nadi,” figuring it was only proper to introduce as well and mention her nickname. “Help yourself to anything and Jaden was surprisingly a fantastic help.” Motioning to the mentiond, she gave him a truly appreciative nod. Cooking and baking were therapeutic for her, to have its integrity persevered she was elated. Starting to step back from the couple, Nadeen was taken back by Kelvin’s sudden outburst. She forgot he had been here, having stepped out to her car when he ventured down stairs once before. “I’ve been cookin’ the whole time here, sugar.” The black hair beauty replied, still giving her friend a hug regardless and a little pat on the back. “Thanks for comin’, cher.” It did her nerves good to have company she knew well in her presence. Kendra was another member of the swag squad, but no one she spoke with really. Nadeen had a habit of ducking out on group get togethers. Not all were intentional—sometimes life happened. Her time spent with them, was more on an individual basis which wasn’t bad, in her opinion. A soft bzzt, bzzzt sounded from her pink bag, which was stuffed full of material for the event. “Excuse me a sec, but seriously help yourselves to the food!” Excusing herself she shuffled along in quick small steps, in those heels (rather impressive she hadn’t missed a single beat). Hiking up her bag and balancing it on the counter in the kitchen, Nadi checked the latest text. “Shit….” The curse slipped out with a twitch of her eye. “Jaden, the school newspaper staff we had who was going to cover everything had to cancel. But they already asked a friend, so we’re still covered.” For publicity purposes, documentation, and school memories it had been vital they had someone with a camera on site and well knowledged about the event. It was just a shame, Ezra Martin had been the friend of the cancel-e. A friend, but there was history between the pair and he could be quite the character.

Jaden chuckled when Kelvin came down the stairs and said they hadn't seen each other in a long time. He grabbed him tightly and brushed his knuckle over the top of his head. "We've been apart for a few hours and you already miss me." he sighed, releasing him and saying, "That's true love." Of course he was joking. He then looked to Kendra and smiled brightly, "I think we had our fair share of work." he nodded, crossing his arms over his chest and pursing his lips tightly together. Surprisingly a fantastic help? Jaden looked forward and rose an eyebrow flabbergasted about Nadi's constant credit hogging. Still, he kept in mind that he was twenty years old and he was past getting worked up about just words. They both did the same amount of work and Jaden could have worked more if Nadi had allowed him to.
"Hello." Sean greeted as he joined everybody. He looked to the various dishes and smiled softly, it was different of him. If it had been any other normal day, he would began to mentally criticize the food and conclude whether or not it looked edible. However, he was abnormally happy and it was there to stay. Maybe it was because Sean had told himself that he would do his best to be happy and to appreciate those around him. Or perhaps he was slightly conscious when he let his heart out to Kendra. Kendra. Sean turned his head to her and smiled wholeheartedly, he vaguely remembered that night he got plastered but he knew that it was because of her that he wasn't in the hospital with a broken leg or dead because he would have accidentally thrown himself in the pool out of a major depressing moment.

Taking a stroll across campus, Amber was in no hurry to arrive at his destination. Hearing from Nadi the meet up time was a soft 7:00 he did not wish to be his usual punctual self and opted to instead enjoy the cool evening. His black leather bound satchel rustled against his side in his casual stride. To the right he noticed a girl screaming with a smile stuck to her face, running from a rather large fellow. He soon scooped her into his arms with what looked to be a rather delightful spin. The twinge in his chest couldn’t be denied, nor that heavy internal sigh. Typically he would not dwell on the sad. The tugging at his heart as he longed to have someone walk at his side like that. Put the smile on his face and keep it there with the sound of their voice. Someone who could make him scream in a playful freight while laughing in bliss. This was jealousy and he hated to admit, even he who saw the glass half full, was victim to its spiteful claws. Classes, work, studying, and movies tended to buy his time, occupying his mind to avoid the heartache. Most days it worked, there were these moments where such happiness occurred and he only wished to share it with another. Friends were another vital variable to his formula to devoid his life of regret and sorrow. That was how he got roped up in tonight’s meeting, a friend had told him of the opportunity and how much time it was sure to eat up. His friend, Nadeen, was actually his dance partner at a local dance joint. Mondays, Tuesday, and Wednesday held dance lessons for a minimal fee—Amber felt the experience was priceless. Come Friday, Saturday, and Sunday he was ready to heat the joint up with the lindy-hop, salsa, and anything else they covered in the week! Amber smirked standing at the frat house door, surprised to find himself here without the promise of liquor (not that he made parties here a habit). With a fluid reach and grab, he dialed his company’s number grinning to hear how quickly she answered. “You only answer on the first ring when you are nervous, Miss Nadeen.” A voice made of silk chuckled into the receiver as he announced his arrival and proceeded with small conversation before awaiting her prompt arrival. Hanging up her white iPhone, Nadi kept it out yet, figuring a few more calls would be arriving. “You did, we worked hard.” The small girl agreed with Jaden, noting his closed of posture. Had she said something wrong? Nadi had thought she had done something right, announcing he had been her co-chef. Shaking her head and swallowing the doubt, Nadi begun to shift away from the others. Giving Sean a smile and nod as she passed by, aiming for the door. Yet another face she had see but had yet to engage with. If anything, this event would certainly broaden her social network, that much as for sure. “Remmy!” Nadi chimed out, opening the door to the cool male standing with his hands in his pockets. “Hey, Nadi” Replying, he gave the girl a brief hug and a fleeting kiss on the side of her cheek. Looking over her shoulder, he had the fortune of seeing a wonderful sight of Sean Richards, beaming. No, the smile was not directed him but another girl who stood in his line of sight. Amber could almost imagine that gaze shifted upon him and becoming the source of Sean's enchantment. ...How silly.Amber pulled his gaze away, to what seemed like minutes to him had only been seconds, “Thank you for inviting me.” Closing the door behind him, Amber felt his mood do a complete spin around, a '180'. Had he only known earlier Sean was going to be here—well he would have been on time. ( i686.photobucket.com/albums/vv227/Diedie_Ri/Forums/Landcaster%20Rp/amberhauntedmeeting.jpg )

The month of October was a sensitive time for Vanessa. She'd been through so much during this month and it brought a bittersweet feeling to her. The car accident she had been in happened and she couldn't fully recover her tantalizing fear of getting into automobile accidents. She had learned to drive and could drive, of course. However, Vanessa would sweat cold and panic whenever a car decided it was cute to cut her on the road or pass a red light when her's was on green. It affected her so much that she had to pull aside on the road to recover from her fright. She had lost her so-called friends there and although they were sort of maybe her friends, above everything else they were still human beings. Not to mention, Vanessa herself had suffered from severe injuries due to the harsh impact of the crash. She remembered lying in the hospital bed, hearing the beeping sound continuously to a point that when she was released, she could still hear it while in bed at night. It was a trauma she would have to live with through her whole life - aside from the other many traumas she had went through. The car accident, however, was out of her reach but she accepted the rest of her mistakes and was surprisingly doing a very good job learning from them. The walk from the sorority to the fraternity wasn't so long but it was cold. The heatwave from the summer left Vanessa bi-polar from the weather. Fall in California felt like walking through the snow. She pulled the sleeves of her sweater up her hand so they would get covered after moving the hoodie over her long hair. She walked at her own pace toward the fraternity home. "Hello?" Vanessa's voice rang bold and loud enough for everyone who was already there to hear it. She noticed everyone was in the kitchen and joined them. "Hey guys." she greeted with a gentle smile while removing the hoodie off her head. Jaden moved toward her to greet her with a friendly hug before moving away and simply standing beside her. She then flickered her large, brown eyes on her brother before they lingered to Amber who, evidently, had a crush on her sibling. She scratched her head at the thought. Did Amber not realize that Sean was madly in love with Tiffany George? www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=91640580

Haunted House? OOH SCARY. Anastasia was not a believer of the supernatural, she was actually as incredulous as they came. She wasn't buying that hoo-doo, voo-doo, you do stuff Jaden had told her about. The fraternity was a pretty nice place from inside and outside; well aside from a few of the boys' dorms that were completely unorganized but that was another different story. Nope, nothing could scare Stacy's pants off but mostly everyone could take them off. No, what? Who do you think she is? Of course she wasn't easy but she was extremely difficult either. Needless to say, Anastasia took plenty after her father. Well, her father was really no stick in the mud so she felt like it was probably a good thing. She had stayed over at the fraternity with the guys for the whole day because she wanted to snoop around the preparations. Anyways, Stacy considered herself one of the boys and enjoyed spending time with the male gender. She currently was savoring the delicious food that Jaden and Nadeen had made. [Flo-Rida voice] So many food on here where do I begin? For the time being, Stacy took one of the finger food. She popped it into her mouth as she watched more people arriving. Oh don't mind her, she was just the little monster by the food table having a ball with whatever she was chewing in her mouth. "This tastes delicious!" she chimed, dusting the crumbs off her hands, "...Whatever it is." she added with a satisfied grin. Jaden pursed his lips tightly together before looking to her and nodding, as if he agreed before saying, "It's fried rat." His face looked incredibly serious that Stacy widened her eyes for just a second but then laughed, "Rat's good." www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=91670410

( www.polyvore.com/hh/set?id=91669873 ) Just like any other month of the year, October was just another set of thirty or so days in which Alec worked for about twenty of them. Some people might call him a workaholic, but when you're a mechanical engineering major, work became more of a hobby rather than labor. It isn't everyday that you get the chance to look under the hood of a Bentley or test drive a Ferrari--at least not on Alec's budget. He'd been to his fair share of haunted houses, but never to a home that was actually haunted, or so Jaden claims. Regardless, Alec was here tonight to find out. He wasn't a member of the Swag Squad, but he lived in the Swag Pad and so he was a part of the package deal. Plus, wherever Vanessa showed up, Alec was sure to follow. That was really saying a lot, because getting out of work wasn't always an easy task for him. It wasn't until after his shower that he'd washed off all the grease and sweat to discover a shallow, but visible, cut along his left temple. Alec must've gotten it at work, but he didn't remember exactly when or how it happened. No matter, it wasn't a big deal and he certainly did not need a bandaid for it, so he put on a clean jacket before leaving the apartment. Spotting the food table, Alec felt his heart skip a beat. Alec had worked up a mighty appetite and was more than ready to eat his weight in food. Overhearing the conversation between Jaden and Stacy, he gave a hearty chuckle and added, "So she's a cannibal." Then, he forgot all about eating as he moved towards something much more yummy. Or rather someone. As he approached Vanessa, his arm snaked its way around the back of her waist and he leaned down to give her a quick peck on the cheek. "Hey, beautiful," Alec greeted her, his voice barely above a whisper.

( www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=91822888 ) Between classes, studying, and work, Julian had a multitude of other things to worry about, which was why he rarely attended fraternity-related events. He felt immensely guilty about not being able to support his pledge brothers, but he knew they understood his reasons. If they didn't, he could simply pull out his checkbook and solve the issue with numbers. On top of all of his stress, Julian was in the midst of changing his major from business to pre-med. It was a big decision, but he found that he did not share the same passion about business as his father, but rather in the medical field, much like his grandfather who was a neurosurgeon. Even though Julian wanted to stay as far away from cutting patients open as possible, he hoped to become a successful doctor one day. Minding his own business, Julian made his way into the kitchen to grab a bottle of water from the fridge and leaned his back on the counter as he quietly observed the meeting's turn out. This could prove to be interesting. It was possible to carry out the task with the number of people who were present, but they would have to work hard. Even though he knew many of the familiar faces like the back of his hand, Julian almost never had the time to sit down and actually talk to them. There was also one familiar face that he wished he could see everyday for the rest of his life. He hadn't seen her since the day that they graduated high school together. His father constantly nagged him, insisting that he take that leap of faith and confess his feelings for Camila Sawyer before it was too late. 'You almost weren't born because I almost let your mother get away,' his father would always say. Julian would then reply with, 'Ew, gross, Dad!' Still, he knew in his mind that the old man was right.

( www.polyvore.com/hh3/set?id=91866233 ) Fraternities were a no-go for Kasten, but the twenty-four-year-old didn't mind helping out with school events, especially if it benefited the community as a whole. He was expecting to do some of the more heavy work along with Keagan, but lately the Marine had been completely off the radar. Oh well, he had his own life, too. Kasten would just have to tough it out by himself. He recognized Nadeen from their multiple encounters at the gym, even though he never once approached her. She seemed to know what she was doing and he wasn't rude enough to interrupt her while she was in the zone. Now that they were here for the same reason, perhaps he could get to know her better, especially if he was to take orders from her. "Hello," he greeted everyone in the kitchen. At least, he assumed that everyone was in the kitchen. A meeting wasn't much of a meeting if the participants were scattered, right? "I'm not sure if you've divided the jobs, but I'll take the heavy work, like building or lifting things," Kasten offered. He didn't mind hard labor, especially since there were close to zero things in the civilian world that could compare to what he did in the Army. "Great!" Alec added, looking over his shoulder but his arm never left Vanessa's waist. "I've got a toolbox in the truck. We can run to Home Depot or something if we need to, too." "Awesome, let's get started," Kasten responded. He was feeling pretty pumped up to get the show on the road.

Without hesitation, Nadeen quickly started to usher Amber towards the freshly baked goods. It was a relief to have someone you knew fairly well at your side. For the moment it was great he was a stranger to all persons in the room, she would have buddy anytime Nadi had to retreat from another conversation. This would not be permanent however, Amber was just one of those people who has quick to warm his way into a person’s heart. She figured aside from having his help with the financial records, it was a great opportunity to spread his network.
Thank goodness they decided to make food. People were all gravitating towards the kitchen and guys just seemed to keep wandering down from their rooms in the frat house, to the meeting, like Julian. Just one of those faces you saw around.
Speaking of faces you had seen around, came one she had seen on countless occasions and never really spoke to. Her gym buddy! But not…Really. Just a guy she’d smile and nod to, before running on the treadmill or struggling with weights. Surprisingly he had yet to be one of the people she asked to return the bar to the racks. She could squat up to a 165 pounds, but trying to even just lift that long bar over her head was a challenge. Funny enough, that’s how she met Sydney. Asking her to return the object, it was embarrassing but with that girl’s smile Nadi for once did not feel as flustered.
“I like your attitude,” she said in reference to both Alec and Kasten. Relieved for both their positive attitude and realization of what type of jobs they were already getting. Timidly, she stepped towards them—hoping not to intrude on their conversation. Seeing Alec’s arm about Vanessa’s waist, she really hoped she wasn’t imposing.
“We haven’t gone over who has to do what, but I was hoping you guys wouldn’t mind some of the physical stuff?” Nadi let out a shy smile, and shrug of her shoulders worried they would be slightly irked roles had already been determined for them.
“It won’t be too hard, we’re using the black box that theater department normally utilizes. So we’re just building…Walls, essentially to make the most use of the space.” Literally, the room was entirely black. On one wall there were curtains, behind them mirrors, which Nadeen intended to take full advantage of. Thankfully the room was larger than most, due to the school’s fantastic theater funding.
