The party was really starting to pick up, and the music was making her chest vibrate. She was ready to get the show on the road, but Mr. Kill Joy was really killing her vibe. He could clearly save the attitude for another day where it might be fixed. But at the party, he could be having fun. Kendra wondered why he didn’t just lock himself in his room or something. “Wow,” she whistled after his dead person analogy,” you are a thief of joy.” She had conversations like this with Sean often, not because they didn’t get along, but because she didn’t give a shit about his girly mood swings. Again, she cared for him as a person, but not when he had snarky comments.
Kendra was a stubborn girl, and she viewed Sean as a challenge. Surely there was something that could get the boy to loosen up or something. She noticed Jaden has slipped away and even giggled to herself when she saw him with Champagne a little ways off. At least someone was enjoying themselves . She honestly didn’t understand how his mood could change so much from when they attended high school together. Was it the school? She narrowed her eyes at the slender male in front of her in thought. What to do with him? She couldn’t just leave him to wallow in whatever the hell his mood was. There was only one thing to do.
“This will not do,” she said motioning to him as if he himself was the problem,” I know just the fix.” With that she turned to semi-climb on the kitchen counter to a cabinet. If was days like this that she wished she was taller. Opening the cabinet she grabbed two shot classes within reach, and with a smirk she hopped of the counter and headed back toward Sean with a slight bounce. She placed the two glasses on a table near them and turned back to the male. “I think we need to appreciate my friends here,” she said eyeing the two bottles in Sean’s hands. Kendra knew that Sean was a stickler about his personal space, and again she never really cared. Stepping in she grabbed the neck of the bottles, pulling them slightly so her chest bumped against his almost like a challenge.
It took the red haired girl a second to debate which drinks would be done first. She looked at both the proofs and saw that they were both the same, so it didn’t really matter with both Vodkas. She should’ve grabbed the Smirnoff black label, that shit was 50 percent alcohol. “It’s time to lighten up!” she jested as she filled her glass and his up with Russian Bear Vodka. Putting the bottle back on the counter with its cap screwed on she grabbed the gasses. Carefully turning she held one of the glasses out toward Sean. “ This is yours,” she said looking him in the eyes,” that is, unless you’re scared?” Kendra knew that sometimes the only way to get what she wanted from the boy was to make it seem like a challenge. “I’m sure everyone will understand if you can’t handle it.”

The small group was disintegrating. Seeing Jaden so content with Champagne pained Sean to a point where he had to awkwardly turn his head away from the two. It was unfair; they'd known each other in high school and were rekindling their flame of years ago. Whereas he and she who shall not be named were nowhere near that status. The only one who really knew why Sean changed so drastically was his sister, Vanessa. The two told each other everything and while he had always been there to listen to her, she was there too. Sean, at first, started with a mild depression. He wasn't in the kitchen as much as he used to be considering that it brought back memories. Instead, he focused on something that was his and only his; preforming. His depression slowly but surely turned into bitterness. Sean doesn't quite remember how he turned but all he knew was that he couldn't help it. Somehow, his worst critic also turned into his worst enemy and that was himself.
Sean's self-hatred was masked by false arrogance. The only person he was lying to was himself. No one else was affected by his lack of love toward himself. Only him. It wasn't only Tiffany. Actually, it was all that Sean wanted to be. As a performer, he was hard on himself because he wanted to be the greatest, glorious and remembered. It was only obvious that he was bound to end up with this low self-esteem. He scrunched his eyebrows together when Kendra called him a thief of joy. If she felt so strongly about his lack of enthusiasm, why was she insisting him and why wasn't she running along finding someone else to bother?
A scoff escaped his lips when Kendra motioned to him and basically called him a problem. Sean rolled his eyes lightly before settling down on her. For the most part, he was going to stay quiet. He wasn't really one to talk over people and it was almost amusing watching Kendra acrobat herself in order for him to lighten up. When she motioned him to the drinks, Sean bit down on his lip. He didn't want to admit it to anyone but he was terribly lightweight. One shot of those and he might just pass out or - worse. Sean wasn't sure of what would be the consequence but he was going to have to decline the invitation. When Kendra bumped him, Sean had no choice but to make himself look taller. He kept an unaffected look on his face but inside he was panicking.
"I don't think so." Sean slowly pushed her hand away while shaking his head. He had a smirk on his face once again hiding the fact that he was only behind a smug look. After that, Sean would have just walked away and had left her standing there with two drinks in her hand. Still, Kendra seemed persuasive and she was challenging him. Sean's big, brown eyes lowered to the glass in her hand. He moved his pursed lips to the side and took it, "Cheers." he mumbled before taking the shot. What on Earth? Sean felt the burning sensation in his throat, causing him to clear it loudly. The strong smell was even lingering inside of his nose and it would have suffocated him if only he hadn't been fearful of embarrassment.

He wasn't about the Greek life, but Kasten found himself attending these sorority and fraternity parties as if he'd just been inducted the day before. First, it was the sorority party because he was hungry and wanted a quick dinner, not to mention talking to a few pretty women. This time, it was because of his good friend Keagan. Kasten and Keagan were not only the same age, but they were also veterans of the Army and Marines, respectively. Battle buddies, brothers in arms, whatever the term, the two of them shared an unspoken connection despite their new friendship. Entering the room, Kasten released the breath he didn't realize he was holding. He almost forgot how young these kids were compared to him. Oh well, at least that old geezer Keagan was around here somewhere. First thing was first: Kasten was going to get himself a plate and a drink. He'd had a very tiring day at work dealing with insurance companies and rude patients, so with the next three days off, he was going to have the time of his life at this party. Maybe he would meet a girl who could keep up with his drinking, or maybe he'd have to settle for a long night with Rammer. Looking around, he saw several faces; some fresh and some he'd seen before. Even though Kasten wasn't the shy kind of guy, he had the habit of minding his own business, which was why he stood at the food and drink table by himself, at least for now. There was no rush. Kendra wasn’t exactly sure why she was being so insistent with the frat boy. It was mostly because she was genuinely concerned about him. She wasn’t used to seeing him like this, and she took it upon herself to try to fix the situation as best as possible. Sure, drinking wouldn’t fix anything, but maybe if he loosened up a little he could start to have fun. She had partied with him before, and his alcohol tolerance was never good. She hoped that a few years had made a difference, but a part of her had a bad feeling. She waited for him to make a decision, eyeing him intently as if waiting for him to back down. She smirked as he went for the bait and took the drink. She silently cheered to herself at her victory over the male.
She tried not to laugh at the expression on his face when he finally downed the drink. Alcohol wasn’t enjoyable for its taste. It didn’t help that they were drinking straight vodka without mixing it. Sometimes she brought things to give it a better taste, but it had slipped her mind. “Bottoms up,” was all she said as she tilted her head back, like muscle memory, and downed the little glass. The familiar burning sensation began, the sign of a good drink. She could usually go about eight shots in before the floor would start to move and walking down the stairs would be quite the challenge. She grabbed the glass out of his hand without even waiting for it. “See, that wasn’t so bad!” she said almost like a child jumping into the pool for the first time. She couldn’t help but laugh at his expression. What did he have to fear? Soon he wouldn’t even need to think about anything, just let go!
“We can’t forget about friend number two though,” she said opening the bottle of Smirnoff,” she’s a jealous bitch.” Quickly she filled the glasses, like she had done so many times before. She wasn’t sure if this was a good sign or not. She was basically qualified to be a bartender with her mass knowledge of drinks and mixing. Turning again with the other drink in hand she held it up to him,” I do believe you dropped this.” It was a common statement among drinkers when it came to shots. It basically meant ‘drink this, it’s yours’, but in a clever way. She clicked her own drink against his before throwing it back and setting the empty shot glass on the counter with a click. “Alright!” she exclaimed,” are you ready to have fun now?!”

"Nah, nah," Champagne shook her head and the corners of her lips curved up in a smile as she tilted her head up to him, "you're talking just enough, boo." She would have stolen another kiss, had they not been standing around in a circle of people and she didn't want to be obnoxious with PDA. Champagne was all for having the attention of others, just not in that connotation, didn't wanna be one of those couples everyone looked at thinking they was flaunting their relationship, ya' feel?
She laughed slightly, then turned her head for a second before looking back at Jaden, "Sure, I could go for some cake," she nodded. Noticing his nervous demeanor, she reached over for his hand, comfortingly, "you okay?"

Kelvin looked over at his friends. As Kendra was trying to get Sean to lighten up, and Jaden was with Champagne. Kelvin liked Jaden and Champagne as a couple, they were alright for each other. But it was an unusual couple. Champagne was type of rapper thug life type of a person. Jaden didn't really seem to fit that. But whatever, Kelvin did like them for one another. Kelvin had maybe known Jaden since they where kids, and had kept contact and visited one another during their teenage years. Kelvin was sure that was how he had me Champagne, and then meeting what would become his best friend, Benny. Kelvin and Jaden had gone on an adventure when they were kids, they had slayed a dragon and casted spells. Yeah, probably it had been in their imagination. But Kelvin and Jaden still to this day think what happened was real. But his attention shifted back to Zandria who started to talk to him. Zandria was probably one of the hottest in this university, Kelvin had probably been attracted to her for a long time, maybe this was his lucky day. She seemed into him. "Thanks. Well, I probably will show you around." Kelvin said, giving Zandria a smirk. Yes, he felt it, this was going to be his night, and nothign could ruin it. And to top it all off he got to perform again.
Kelvin turned to Kendra. She was really trying to get Sean out of his bad mood. But she might be trying just a little bit to hard. "Leave the poor guy alone." Kelvin said to Kenrda. "No good can ever come from mixing drinks. Except for when I do it, because I get drunk, and I'm hilarious." Kelvin teased Kendra just a little. It was their relationship, they where close friends, but at times they teased each other. No they teased each other all the time. But it was how they were, and at the end of the day they were friends. Kelvin walked over to the counter to grab some of the Vodka Kendra had brought. He poured half a glass, as he started to drink. As he looked to see more people coming in. Kelvin sighed, lots more cleaning, as he filled his glass up once more this time almost a full glass. He tried to ignore the burning sensation in his throat, and just enjoy the time he was going to have. He walked over towards Kendra. "Kendra.. Who did you get to buy this for you? A homeless man on the streets?" Kelvin asked. Kendra wasn't actually old enough to buy or consume alcohol legally. But Kendra was witty and Kelvin was sure she had done something. Kelvin then turned to Zandria, holding up the bottle in his left hand. "You want some?" Kelvin asked her. Maybe so more people could loosen up.
