Kelvin flipped through his phone at the school of Music. It was everything Kelvin needed to make Music, and to study too. It had decent classrooms and places to learn and make music. There was a little recording studio that you had to sign for, to get time. Kelvin looked at the time, it was 11:39 AM. Kelvin had reserved it till 1:00. It was time enough to listen to the beat a few times, make some cool lyrics, edit the voice and the song, and then boom, you had a brand new song. Kelvin had a couple of beats on his songs, and some lyrics he had written on his phone. Kelvin wrote his songs like Eminem had. He listened to beats, and words came up around the beat, he would write the words, and then put them together. He played a beat that Kelvin himself had produced on his computer. Kelvin looked at the ceiling, while bouncing his head to the beat, and while he wrote words on his notepad so the song would be awesome, like most of his songs. Kelvin started to look at the words.
Beside Kelvin's seat sat one of his best female friends, Champagne. They both shared the passion of music, and singing. And although initially, Kelvin didn't really like the fact that she was an intern at Young Money.. Kelvin had no love for Weezy, but it if it made his friend happy, then he would deal with it. Kelvin looked at Champagne, the mocha type skinned girl, Kelvin couldn't tell if Champagne was mixed, or she was just like on of those dark skinned white people. In personality, Benny and Kelvin had established that Champagne was black. And in Kelvin's mind, just a tiny bit of ratchet, but not a lot. Kelvin looked at Champagne. "Alright, I think I got some chorus, and Imma just freestyle the verse." Kelvin explained to his friend. Kelvin headed towards the booth, and waited for the beat to start. Kelvin cleared his throat, and started to free style.
"I be on that other shit, I'm harder than a consonant And that's because I'm flyer than the mothership, you ostrich I'm awesome rich. Call a bitch. Fresher than my lozenges The problem is you in the Danger Zone like Kenny Loggins is I'm fly, I'm tight. They say I'm sick: they right You think you good, I swear I put your shit to bed, good night Yes, I'm sitting on the bench cause I don't play no games I just spit that Bellevue, watch them go insane Why these mothafuckas think they waking up in pain Cause they sleeping on the hardest nigga in this game Hell yes, I'm on that zombie shit, I must get brain They will not forget me like I was hit by planes I ain't got to do it big, I just gotta do it different And these hoes are on my dick, and if you got it, it ain't tricking I be steady getting paper, call a nigga Dunder Mifflin And these rappers cannot see me, I'm the only one with vision"
And then Kelvin started to make some chorus.
"I be on that other shit I be on that other shit I be on that other shit And you can't handle none of it I be on that other shit I be on that other shit I be on that other shit And you can't handle none of it" Kelvin said making up the chorus. Then signaled for Champagne to stop the beat, and Kelvin walked out of the booth, he had only come up for one verse. He looked at Champagne. "Go ahead and try and make the second verse."

Most of Champagne's time at school was occupied in the studio. She hogged a bunch of the time slots, which bugged other kids, but they'd get used to it, soon enough. Chick was just trying her best to stay ahead of the game. Champagne was going places and she knew it, she was just doing what it took to make it happen, and fast, no matter what it took -- whether it be picking up coffee and weed for some snooty producers at Young Money or what, at least she was getting herself out there and noticed, right? One step closer in her career. Champagne was a hard worker and she prided herself in that, she didn't take things the easy way, and she got that from her mom, despite their differences in morality, being that Crystal was a stripper from the time Champagne was born up until she graduated high school.
Champagne always got along better with male figures better than females, just for the sole reason that she was raised by her uncle, and was surrounded by Benny and Freydo most of the time, so, ultimately, she didn't have too much of a crystal-clear idea what it was like to be buddy-buddy with other girls. It wasn't really a problem for her, she just preferred guy friends, and Kelvin was one of which she was closest to. When you got things in common with someone, you get along, and what with them both heading towards the same career path, Champagne knew she'd be spending quite some time with him.
After stopping the beat on the soundboard, she looked up at Kelvin, raising an eyebrow when she was asked to do a second verse. She hadn't written much in a while, considering she'd been working on perfecting her vocals (females didn't make it too far in the industry on rapping alone). Getting up and running a hand through her hair, she shrugged, "Aight," she nodded, biting her lip and heading into the booth, getting in front of that mic and looking to Kelvin to start the beat up again.
Once she heard the music, she nodded along to it a little, lowering her eyes, letting the words flow out,
"I'm on top of turd mountain; King shit, bitches Can't nobody top that; Teen Witch, bitches I don't make it rain, I bring the heat storm, nigga Weezy F is in jail, I keep his seat warm, nigga Yes, I get it like I live it Yes, this pimp is still is pimpin' Y'all don't want me to be different What the fuck is y'all thinkin'? That does not suit me, call it Ben Sherman Cause I get more green than Kermit, heard me? I'm in charge of new shit; Don't talk, do shit Spittin' at the crowd like I play heavy metal music I can say anything, call me John Cusack Keep my dick wetter than the bottom of a cruise ship Keep it fresh to death. Keep my swag inside a coffin So fly, I'm in the sky like Vodka, partner Shout out to Marc Jacobs. Yeah, my feet be feelin' highbrow And Band of Outsiders, got your tie on right now Glory versus failure. There is nothing to it Cause you win some and lose some, Sandra Bullock Tell me when I'm way too much, when no one had faith in us They thought Child was child's play, but now, they see we dangerous Bring your girl around and let me show her how her body work She like me cause my wallet fat, it should wear a Hawaiian shirt Comin' for your spot, like I do when I'm inside of her Got the cold, hard green in my hand, no Heineken Listen up, listen up, please. Check my steez Insect ligaments, I'm the bee's knees Watch my math, like 75 minus 6 How can number 2 be number 1? Because I'm the shit, bitch."
She smiled slightly to herself, then continued on to repeat the chorus Kelvin had spit out earlier,
"I be on that other shit, I be on that other shit, I be on that other shit And you can't handle none of it I be on that other shit, I be on that other shit, I be on that other shit And you can't handle none of it."
Once she was done and waited for the music to stop, she looked up at Kelvin, "That good?"

Kelvin just sat back and nodded listening to her freestyling on the mic. Kelvin didn't think, HE KNEW Champagne could be one of the biggest rappers alive, given more time. Kelvin had a knack for seeing talent, but you didn't even need that to see the potential Champagne had. Kelvin looked at her once she finished the freestyle. Kelvin stood awestruck. He didn't know how to explain it, but that had been exactly what he wanted on the song. He loved the lyrics, and Kelvin thought that maybe him spending so much time with Champagne, made her use Kelvin's rapping style as much as her own, and the same thing with Kelvin. Kelvin had let the beat replay a few times, just because it sounded so good. And once she came out of the boot, Kelvin looked at her. "Damn girl.. That was sick." Kelvin said nodding.
He took the time to edit the whole song, and play Kelvin's verse, and Champagne's verse as a whole. Now, obviously, this was going to be Kelvin's song, so later on he would copy what Champagne had freestyled and rap it in his own voice. But he would give Champagne credit on writing on the song, and then he would help Champagne write her own song. He listened to the song, he looked at Champagne, "Keep my dick wetter than the bottom of a cruise ship? You got a dick?" Kelvin asked teasing. Champagne had probably said dick because she knew Kelvin was going to use the song. He saved the song on a disc on the side, so Kelvin could go back to the Frat house, where he had made a his little recording place, where he could record at times, but life was simpler recording in a studio. As he finished burning the disc, he looked over at Champagne. "So, lets here your song, we can do it like mine, you free style one part, and I'll free style another, then later on, we add your voice to the whole song?" Kelvin asked.

Champagne just smiled, brushing it off like it was nothing, "Ah, just doin' what I do, you know," she laughed. She was always there to help out a friend, and producing was what she was trying to get into anyway, so she was happy that she could be of service to Kelvin in any way.
She listened as he continued to edit the song, sitting next to him and letting Kelvin do his thing. He was definitely going places at the pace he was going at, and Champagne was happy to be apart of it. He'd definitely be one of the first she'd hit up if she made it big, and she was sure Kelvin would do the same if the roles were reversed.
"'Course I got a dick, tha' fuck ya' heard?" she joked, laughing while she waited for him to finish burning the track onto the CD. Raising an eyebrow when he brought up recording her song, she opened her mouth and shrugged, "I don't know, I don't really got nothing ready right this second," she laughed slightly, turning around to pick up the bag she'd brought with her and retrieving the notebook where she wrote most of her lyrics down.
Champagne pursed her lips, unsure of which of the few songs were ready yet, and then finally settling on one, "Mm, here." She tore out a page, leaning over the sound table and setting up a beat, then getting up and walking into the booth, looking to Kelvin to start it, and once it did, she let out a breath, and started to sing,
"R.I.P. to the girl you used to see Her days are over, baby she's over I decided to give you all of me Baby come closer, baby come closer..."
She shook her head and signaled Kelvin to stop the track, "I don't... I feel like something should come in on this part," she shook her head, "you got anything?"
