KING, AIDAN K.
AIDAN KILLIAN KING TWENTY-ONE CAUCASIAN NO CURRENT OCCUPATION STRAIGHT PSYCHOLOGY FEELING LIKE I'M HEADING FOR A BREAKDOWN HEIGHT: 6'0 WEIGHT: 165 APPEARANCE: Aidan stands at a slightly above average height at six foot even, weighing around one-hundred and sixty five pounds. He has an athletic, toned build from years of playing soccer. Somewhat to his dismay, he takes mostly after his father looks-wise. He has a fairly tan complexion, and short, dark brown, nearly black hair. Thick eyebrows sit just above a pair of bright blue eyes. As a general rule, when Aidan is just hanging out, he’s in a t-shirt and pair of jeans. It’s not entirely unusual to see him dressed up a bit more (especially if his aim is to impress), but as far as dress goes, like other aspects of his life, comfort is a main priority. BUT I'M NOT CRAZY... LIKES:

OVERALL: On the surface, Aidan is a pretty tough guy – not much gets to him. That’s not to say he’s callous, though. He’s simply calm, level-headed, and easy going. Really, it’s who he had been at an earlier stage in his life, and who he wants to be more than anything. However, things that happened throughout his life interfered, leading his toughness to become an act. When he had been younger, he felt the need to keep up a façade. Whether that was to fool others or just to protect himself, he’s not entirely sure. Now it’s just second nature for him. On the inside, he’s an absolute wreck more often than not. Through his late teenage years he struggled with both anxiety and depression. Even now, Aidan feels like he has more bad days than good; most days are a fight for him. One of the biggest struggles for him is how he handles his problems. The thing is he really doesn’t handle them at all. When things start to bother him, he tends to close in on them, pushing them down. Of course it works for a while, and he’ll be completely happy go lucky. But eventually, when he can no longer take it all, he explodes. Sometimes inwardly, often leading to further relapses into depression, and sometimes outwardly, lashing out at whoever is around. After the dust from his outburst has settled, he’ll try to go back to how he was before, whatever means necessary, never really learning his lesson. Despite all this, he tries to be happy, even if it sometimes means resorting to less acceptable methods. Deep down, Aidan’s “façade” that he constantly tries to keep up is in fact who he is. He’s a pretty caring guy – sometimes too caring, leading him to be overprotective and in some cases, adding to his own anxiety. He’s personable, and tries his best to be at least sincere, if not always the most considerate person. JUST A LITTLE UNWELL HISTORY: Matthew King and Sarah Barnes were high school sweethearts. They ran off not long after graduation, eloping, and moving into a small apartment in Beaumont, California. It wasn't but a year before they were expecting Aidan, who was born on October 4th. He was their first born and last born. By the time Aidan was three, his parents were fighting almost constantly – their honeymoon phase, while lasting unusually long, ended with a violent bang. Towards the end, his father was physically abusive towards his mother. Luckily for Sarah and her son, she was able to leave Matthew, kicking him out of their home. From then on, the two were by themselves. The struggles of single parenthood were of course present, though rarely overly strenuous. Aidan very rarely suffered because of the divorce, outside of not having much of a fatherly figure growing up. Outside of the few things he picked up from his mom over the years, he hardly even remembered the man. The next few years of Aidan's life were pretty simplistic. He went to school, made slightly above average grades, he had a decent amount of friends, and somewhere along the way he picked up a love for soccer. They were getting along just fine, him and his mom. Not everything could be good forever though. Aidan's best friend was named Brandon, and he had met him at the beginning of Junior High. They were inseparable for years. Eventually, Brandon began pulling away from everyone, becoming distant. Midway through their sophomore year of high school, he was found dead in his bedroom. Brandon had been suffering from Major Depressive Disorder, and went on to hang himself in his bedroom. The news absolutely devastated Aidan, and threw a wrench into his life. He quickly blamed himself for his best friend’s death. I should have noticed, I could have stopped him… It wasn't long before the guilt crushed him, and he found himself with constant anxiety, beating himself up for things that weren't even related. His mom put him through therapy in an attempt to cope. In the long run, he was put on Prozac in the hopes it would help treat his depression. Throughout the whole ordeal, Aidan never felt himself really picking up. He quit his soccer team and spent more time by himself, usually sleeping. Eventually, he realized it was worrying the people around him. Over the course of a year he gave a half-assed attempt at getting better. When it was obvious that wasn't going to be enough, he started to fake it. The drugs weren't working, but he kept on taking them. He had to act like he was alright, make everyone think he was starting to recover. If anything, it was for his mother’s own good. He couldn't let her think he was going to go off the deep end, not when she had put so much work into giving him a good life. Aidan'S final year of high school could only be described as a chaotic one. He found himself hitting every party he could on the weekends, finding alcohol to be a far better way to numb his pain than the Prozac. But during the week, he had to keep up his charade, prove to his mom he was doing better. He gave a decent attempt to his school work, though he found it took way more effort than it ever had before. Eventually, when it became time to apply for colleges, Landcaster University wasn't exactly the first on his list. It was close to home, just over an hour’s drive, which admittedly, wasn't what he wanted at all. He felt the need to be as far away from home as possible after the few years he had. Unfortunately for him, that was exactly what his mom wanted – for him to be close enough to home for the occasional visit. And fortunately for his mom, being the good son that he was, that was exactly what she got. Money being tight for the two of them, he went to a nearby community college for his first two years. This year though, he transferred to Landcaster University, and is hoping it turns out to be a smooth transition for him. |
